The Physical Actor II
Ages 13-18

This class takes a specialized, physical approach to understanding the life of a character. Students will develop skills in styles such as Viewpoints, Laban Efforts, Grotowski’s ‘Art as Vehicle’, LuCoq’s ‘Levels of Tension’, and Commedia dell’Arte. In addition to scripted scenes, students will get the chance to develop their own characters in rehearsed, improvised scenes.

Meet the Instructors

John Fanelli

John Fanelli holds a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of California, San Diego. He has had more than 17 successful years directing, teaching and creating programs for young people in theatre arts.

Lauren Lucksavage

Lauren graduated summa cum laude from Five Towns College with a B.F.A in Theatre Arts. She also studied abroad with the Shakespeare Institute where she worked hand and hand with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
